Egypt and Qatar have reaffirmed their commitment to fostering economic partnership and reaching a ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip.

Following talks between Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha, the two countries issued a joint statement outlining their plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

They aim to enhance common interests, increase Qatari investments, and boost trade exchange, contributing to sustainable economic development.

As part of this agreement, Qatar will inject $7.5 billion in direct investments into Egypt.

Both leaders also expressed support for Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and backed efforts to bring about Palestinian national reconciliation.

They welcomed the resumption of indirect talks between the US and Iran and commended Oman’s diplomatic efforts in the negotiations.

Additionally, Qatar announced its support for Egypt’s Khaled el-Anani’s nomination for UNESCO Director-General, citing his extensive academic and cultural experience.

The two countries expressed satisfaction with the progress in their relationship and emphasized the importance of building on this momentum to elevate their ties to higher levels based on mutual respect and a shared vision for a secure, stable, and prosperous future.
