Thirty-five people were killed and six wounded in an intercommunal clash in Chad’s southwest province of Logone Occidental, according to a government spokesperson.
The incident occurred in a village on Wednesday, with security forces quickly intervening to control the situation before a delegation arrived to provide support to those affected.
Such deadly conflicts are frequent in the Central African country, often between herders and local farmers who accuse them of grazing animals on their land.
