The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has named the five airlines that will fly Nigerian pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the 2027 Hajj.
NAHCON announced the list on Thursday after its aviation screening committee finished evaluating applicants.
The approved carriers are:
- Air Peace Limited
- Flynas
- Max Air Limited
- Saudi Air
- UMZA Aviation Services Limited
According to the commission, the airlines were picked based on regulatory safety records, operational capacity, and financial strength.
The deal is not final yet. NAHCON said each airline must still sign an airlift agreement and meet all requirements from both the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation.
Passenger quotas and flight schedules will be worked out with state pilgrims’ welfare boards and the five operators.
NAHCON also set rules for Hajj 2027. Airlines must issue tickets tied to each pilgrim’s Nusuk-Masar data and follow all safety standards.
Each pilgrim will be allowed two bags: one 32kg checked luggage and one 8kg hand luggage.
The commission urged stakeholders to work with the approved airlines to ensure a safe and smooth airlift for Nigerian pilgrims next year.
