Morocco’s annual inflation rate, measured by the consumer price index, decreased to 0.4% in May from 0.7% in April, according to the country’s statistics agency. Food prices rose 0.5% year-over-year, while non-food inflation increased by 0.3%.
Core inflation, excluding volatile goods like food, was up 1.1% year-over-year and remained stable month-over-month.
This decline in inflation marks a continuation of Morocco’s trend of easing price pressures, driven primarily by a slowdown in food prices.
