South Africa: Brothers Charged with AKA’s Murder After Extradition

Two brothers, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, have been charged with the murder of South African rapper Kiernan Forbes, popularly known as AKA, and his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The brothers were extradited from Eswatini after a lengthy legal battle and are facing multiple charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and unlawful possession of firearms.

The 32-year-old rapper was killed outside a restaurant in Durban in February 2023, while on his way to perform at a nightclub. Police described the attack as a coordinated hit.

The brothers are expected to appear in court alongside five other accused individuals, with the trial scheduled to begin in July 2026.
