The Presidency has criticised former Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, over his recent comments on the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing his remarks as politically motivated and inconsistent.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the government questioned Aregbesola’s record in public office, pointing to challenges experienced during his tenure as governor of Osun State and as a minister under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Presidency also dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with which Aregbesola is now aligned, as lacking a clear and credible agenda for Nigerians.

Defending the current administration, Onanuga said the government has introduced measures aimed at easing economic hardship and improving national security. He added that investments are being made in security operations, alongside closer collaboration with intelligence agencies to tackle emerging threats.

According to the statement, the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda is already delivering results, and Nigerians were urged to disregard what it described as misleading narratives about the government’s performance.
