The Peoples Democratic Party has produced senatorial candidates in Kogi, Imo, Benue, Gombe, Katsina, Ebonyi and Abia states for the 2027 general elections.
In Kogi Central, incumbent senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was affirmed as the PDP candidate after an exercise conducted across 57 wards. The results were collated at Kahal Cinema in Okene under the supervision of INEC officials and the media. Akpoti-Uduaghan said the turnout reflected the people’s trust and pledged to continue focusing on development, inclusion and justice.
In Imo, the party named former deputy governor Eze Madumere as candidate for Imo East through a consensus arrangement at the state secretariat in Owerri. Jones Onyereri and Mike Duru Ejiogu were announced as candidates for Imo West and Imo North respectively.
Benue North-West will be represented by Eunice Ortom, former first lady of the state, while Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro secured the ticket for Benue South.
In Gombe North, former governor and incumbent senator Ibrahim Dankwambo was affirmed as the consensus candidate. INEC officials from Abuja and Gombe monitored the process in Malam Sidi.
Katsina Central’s ticket went to Hamisu Gambo, known as Dan Lawan, while Nura Khalil was endorsed for Funtua district. PDP leader Yakubu Lado said the party prioritised competence and performance in its selection.
In Ebonyi South, Maria Nwachi won the primary with 2,299 votes.
For Abia, the PDP announced Jude Udeachara for Abia North with 39,740 votes, Bob Ogu for Abia Central with 18,901 votes, and Chinyere Onuoha for Abia South with 33,611 votes. Party officials described the exercises as peaceful and said the party was preparing for victory in 2027.
