The Ogun State Police Command has announced enhanced security arrangements ahead of the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival, deploying more than 2,500 personnel to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration across the state.

The deployment includes officers drawn from various tactical and specialised units such as the Police Mobile Force, SWAT, Violent Crime Response Unit, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Monitoring Unit, Force Intelligence Department, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD-CBRN), and the Motor Traffic Department.
According to the Command, the officers will be supported with Armoured Personnel Carriers, patrol vehicles, motorcycles, surveillance teams, undercover operatives, and rapid response squads strategically stationed across Ijebu Ode and surrounding communities.

Key locations covered include the Ojude Oba Pavilion, major highways, entry and exit points, hotels, worship centres, markets, motor parks, and other areas expected to record high human and vehicular traffic during the festival.
The Command said the operation is designed to ensure crowd control, intelligence-led policing, traffic management, anti-crime patrols, and swift response to any security threats before, during, and after the celebration.

Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers have been directed to remain on high alert, intensify patrols, and carry out stop-and-search operations, while maintaining round-the-clock supervision of personnel.
Strategic routes such as the Sagamu Interchange, Ijebu Ode–Benin Expressway, and Molipa axis will also receive special security attention to prevent criminal activity and traffic disruptions.
The police urged officers to maintain professionalism and respect for the rights of law-abiding citizens, while strengthening collaboration with traditional rulers, community leaders, transport unions, and event organisers to improve intelligence gathering.

The Command also warned criminal elements to stay away from the state, stressing its readiness to deal decisively with anyone attempting to disrupt public peace.
Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, assured residents and visitors of adequate security throughout the festival, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
