Six electricity transmission towers along the Apir–Lafia route have been destroyed by vandals.

According to Ndidi Mbah, TCN’s General Manager for Public Affairs, both circuits of the Apir–Lafia 330kV line are now down.

The lines will stay offline until the damaged towers are rebuilt.

TCN says engineers are on site assessing the full extent of the damage before reconstruction begins and normal supply can resume along that corridor.

To limit blackouts, the Lafia 330kV station is being fed temporarily through the Lafia–Jos line.

That’s keeping some power flowing to affected customers while repairs are planned.
