The All Progressives Congress (APC) has clinched the Zuru state constituency seat in the Kebbi House of Assembly after its candidate, Rabiu Garba Aiki, won Saturday’s by-election by a wide margin.
INEC’s returning officer announced the results following vote collation. Aiki polled 4,871 votes to defeat Labour Party’s Aliyu Muhammad, who got 168 votes.
Out of 109,385 registered voters in Zuru, 5,156 were accredited for the poll. INEC recorded 5,150 votes cast, with 5,055 declared valid and 95 rejected.
With the declaration, Aiki will now represent Zuru constituency in the Kebbi State House of Assembly.
The by-election was conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on June 21, 2026.
