A man who claimed to be the Director-General of a non-existent government body has been arrested in Abuja.
Adeniyi Adeyemi, who styled himself as DG of the so-called “Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council” or PFIPC, was taken into custody shortly after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, signed a warrant for his arrest on Monday, July 14, 2026.
Adeyemi was scheduled to be arraigned on an eight-count charge, case number FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, bordering on forgery, fraud, and impersonation.
Although his name was listed as No. 12 on the court’s cause list, he failed to show up in person. A lawyer, Mr. Genesis Francis, however announced appearance for him.
