Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027.
The decision was announced in a statement on Sunday by Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesman for Adeleke’s re-election campaign. He said the governor and party leaders met late Saturday in Osogbo, Osun State capital, to review issues affecting the party and the country.
According to the party, it wants the Tinubu administration to complete key infrastructure projects already started, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.
The meeting also touched on the August governorship election in Osun. Party leaders cautioned against violence, voter intimidation, electoral manipulation, and the alleged use of security forces against Accord members in the state.
National officers present included National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem, Deputy National Chairman Maryam Sale, National Secretary Ajaja Abiola Adebukola, National Treasurer Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen, National Organising Secretary Ibe Thankgod, and National Publicity Secretary Omorogbe Joseph. State chairmen from across the country also attended.
The endorsement adds to early political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
