Tanzania, the seeds in Group B, will compete against Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic. This group is expected to compete fiercely as teams vie for the top two spots.

Uganda leads Group C and will take on Niger, Guinea, and two yet-to-be-determined qualifiers. With unknown elements in the mix, this group is shaping up to be one to watch. Defending champions, Senegal are the top seeds in Group D, joined by Congo, Sudan, and Nigeria in a compact yet intensely competitive pool.

Two spots remain unfilled, with Algeria, Comoros, Gambia, Malawi, Egypt, South Africa, and Gabon set to battle for the Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 positions. These teams will complete the tournament roster.

This edition of CHAN marks the first time the tournament will be hosted in East Africa since Rwanda in 2016. Notably, Morocco and DR Congo have each claimed the title twice, while Tunisia, Libya, and Senegal each boast one win.

The glamorous draw event was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. East African football icons, including Uganda’s Hassan Wasswa, Tanzania’s Mrisho Ngasa, and Kenya’s McDonald Mariga, graced the occasion. The TotalEnergies CHAN exclusively features players competing in their domestic leagues, making it a unique platform to highlight homegrown talent across the continent.
