The crescent marking the beginning of Shawwal 1446 AH has been officially sighted, confirming that Eid-el-Fitr will be observed on Sunday, March 30.

The announcement follows the traditional moon sighting, signaling the end of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims across Nigeria and the world.

As anticipation builds, the Chief Imam of Lagos Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla has directed all Imams within Lagos State—the Centre of Excellence—to lead their respective congregations in Eid prayers within their local communities.

The move aims to ensure a smooth and decentralized observance of the festivities.

Meanwhile, the Chief Imam himself will lead Muslim faithful at the Obalende prayer ground by 10 a.m. on Sunday, where thousands are expected to gather in celebration and prayer.

Muslims are now preparing to mark the end of Ramadan with communal prayers, festive meals, and acts of charity, all rooted in gratitude and spiritual reflection.
