The federal government has declared Thursday a public holiday to commemorate the 2025 Democracy Day, Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced.
The minister congratulated Nigerians for 26 years of uninterrupted civil rule, praising their resilience, courage, and strength.
Tunji-Ojo noted that under President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria remains dedicated to democratic principles, where citizens’ choices shape the nation’s direction.
This declaration follows Monday’s holiday for the Islamic Eid-el-Kabir festival, making two public holidays within the week.
