The Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE) has elected Honorable Ogechukwu Nkere as its new Prime Minister, succeeding Simon Ekpa who was relieved of his position.

Nkere, who previously served as ActingE Prime Minister and Finance Minister, was unanimously elected by the cabinet on January 14, 2026.
