President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday commissioned the new corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) in Abuja, marking the formal transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to the restructured tax agency.

The president performed the inauguration ceremony, cutting the ribbon alongside top government officials, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and the Executive Chairman of the NRS, Zacch Adedeji.

Tinubu, in a brief address during the event, commended the agency’s performance and officially declared the building open. He also read the commemorative plaque, which stated that the headquarters was commissioned on April 14, 2026, describing it as “a lasting symbol of integrity.”

The new NRS headquarters, according to presidential aide Dada Olusegun, comprises 16 floors and three towers, with capacity to accommodate about 3,000 staff members.
The commissioning is part of the federal government’s broader tax reform programme aimed at improving revenue collection efficiency and strengthening fiscal administration across the country.
