The Nigerian Air Force has carried out fresh air strikes on terrorist positions in the Yuwe axis of Sambisa Forest, killing several fighters and destroying key infrastructure.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, who said the operation followed sustained pressure on terrorist elements in the North-East.
According to him, the strikes were launched based on credible intelligence, backed by Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), which confirmed the presence of insurgents operating from fortified structures and bunkers in the area.

NAF aircraft engaged the targets using precision-guided munitions, successfully destroying the hideouts, neutralising multiple fighters, and taking out critical logistics facilities. Post-strike assessments confirmed the effectiveness of the operation.
Ejodame noted that ongoing air operations have continued to weaken terrorist networks, forcing them into disorganised and reactive movements as pressure mounts.
Reacting to the development, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended the troops and reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to sustained, intelligence-led operations until terrorist threats are eliminated.
He also reiterated the military’s focus on protecting civilians and adhering strictly to rules of engagement to minimise collateral damage.
The latest operation follows earlier successful strikes in parts of Borno State, including Azir and Musarram, where over 40 terrorists were reportedly killed. The missions were carried out under the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, aimed at restoring security in the region.
Military authorities say continued offensives have significantly reduced terrorist activities, with reports of improved safety and relative calm in affected communities.
