The Nigeria Football Federation has initiated contact with William Osula over a potential switch of international allegiance to represent the Nigeria national football team.
Osula, who plays for Newcastle United, was born in Copenhagen to a Danish mother and a Nigerian-French father. The 22-year-old has previously represented Denmark U21 national team, where he impressed with eight goals in 15 appearances after featuring at U-19 level.

He earned his first senior call-up to the Denmark national football team in March for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against North Macedonia and the Czech Republic, but did not make an appearance—leaving the door open for a possible switch.

According to reports, the NFF has stepped up efforts to persuade the forward to commit to Nigeria, making initial contact through his representatives.
Osula has previously hinted at a strong connection to Nigeria, sharing images in Super Eagles jerseys and showcasing Nigerian culture on social media—factors that could influence his final decision on international representation.

With Nigeria keen to strengthen its attacking options, the pursuit of Osula signals a renewed push to attract dual-national talents to the national team setup.
