Nigeria and Poland will face off in an international friendly match at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw on Wednesday as both teams continue preparations for upcoming competitive engagements.

The Super Eagles head into the encounter in high spirits following their recent Unity Cup triumph in London and will be looking to maintain their winning momentum under Head Coach Eric Chelle.

Speaking ahead of the match, Chelle stressed that victory remains the team’s objective despite the friendly nature of the fixture.

“We have a team and we are preparing to go out there and win. Winning is the mentality that we are trying to create in the team and the players. We will go for a win on Wednesday,” the coach said.

Nigeria received a boost with the arrival of Fulham defender Calvin Bassey, increasing the number of players in camp to 20. Germany-based winger Philip Otele was also expected to join the squad, giving the coaching crew additional options.

The Super Eagles boast a strong squad across all departments, with goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Arthur Okonkwo and Francis Uzoho competing for places. Captain Wilfred Ndidi leads a midfield group that includes Frank Onyeka, Raphael Onyedika, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Tochukwu Nnadi.

In attack, Moses Simon, Terem Moffi, Paul Onuachu, Akor Adams and Rafiu Durosinmi are expected to spearhead Nigeria’s quest for another positive result.

Poland will also be eager to impress on home soil as they continue to assess players ahead of future assignments. Coach Jan Urban is expected to give opportunities to several emerging talents after experimenting with new faces in their recent outing against Ukraine.

The hosts will rely on the creativity of winger Jakub Kamiński, while Oskar Pietuszewski, Mateusz Żukowski, Norbert Wojtuszek, Kacper Potulski and Oskar Wójcik are among those hoping to make an impact.

With both nations focused on building squad depth and momentum, the friendly is expected to provide a competitive test for the two sides. The Kick-off is scheduled for 8:45 p.m. local time in Warsaw (7:45 p.m. Nigeria time).
