Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, has revealed that they are yet to receive payment of allowances and bonuses promised to the team, including the $100,000 reward announced by President Bola Tinubu following their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) triumph in Morocco last year.
Speaking on the forthcoming episode of With Chude, hosted by media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ajibade revealed that, despite repeated assurances, the players had yet to receive the funds or other entitlements.

“We have not received our money oo. Please, they have not paid. All the promises you heard back and forth, we have not received anything,” she said. The 24-year-old forward said the players were told the money had been allocated but insisted nothing had reached them.
“People are begging. We have not received it. When they pay it, you will see. Even our match bonuses and everything… everything is still a work in progress,” she added.
Ajibade appealed to the authorities to fulfil their pledges, stressing that the delay was affecting the players’ morale.

President Tinubu had announced in July 2024 a $100,000 cash reward for each player, alongside other bonuses, as a gesture of appreciation for their continental success.
Reflecting on her career journey, Ajibade disclosed that she played for FC Robo Queens in the Nigeria Women’s Football League for a decade without earning a salary. She described her time in the domestic league as “a tough moment,” recalling her upbringing in Mushin, Lagos, where she lived in a compound of nearly 100 people and often washed toilets and bathrooms to make money.
Ajibade began her professional career with FC Robo Queens before moving to Avaldsnes IL in Norway at age 17. She later joined Atlético Madrid Femenino in 2021, where she continues to play.
