Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine has alleged that government-linked security operatives raided the home of his assistant, Najja Sherif, and abducted his wife after failing to locate him.
Wine condemned the action, describing it as intimidation and accusing the government of targeting relatives of opposition figures.
The incident adds to growing tensions between the Ugandan government and opposition figures, particularly members of the National Unity Platform led by Wine.
Wine has frequently accused President Yoweri Museveni’s administration of using security forces to intimidate opposition members and their associates.
This development comes amid heightened tensions following the January 15 elections, during which allegations of harassment, intimidation, and abuse by security forces were widespread.
