The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that claimed a uniformed officer was seen interacting with armed bandits in Katsina State, describing the allegation as false and misleading.
In a statement on Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer, Anietie Iniedu, said the individuals in the video were not bandits but members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) and registered hunters supporting security operations in Katsina State.

According to the police, the footage showed a routine interaction between a police officer and the security volunteers as they moved to a designated operational area in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas.

The Force urged the public to disregard the claims attached to the video, stressing that the vigilantes and hunters are working in collaboration with security agencies to support ongoing operations in the state.
