President Bola Tinubu has formally submitted his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), officially confirming his bid for the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
At the same event, the President unveiled Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 poll, signalling the continuation of the Tinubu-Shettima joint ticket.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Political Affairs, Ibrahim Masari, announced the development and presented Shettima’s nomination form on behalf of the Vice President during a brief ceremony attended by APC leaders at the Continental Hotel in Abuja.
The submission marks a key step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general election as the ruling party begins its nomination process.
